This style of tumbler was a journey of processes. It started life as a digital design in computer software, I then 3D printed a master model and with that, was able to create a multi-part plaster mold in which to slip cast.
I then used multiple colours of porcelain, which I stained to get the right depth of colour, to swirl and throw around the mold to get my patterns. When that was set, I cast like normal with a white porcelain to get the body to the right thickness.
Lastly it was glazed with a transparent glaze so that the only colour visible is from the porcelain itself
