Great Star - a Grandfather Coral

A large vessel created through both throwing and handbuilding. Three different textures seperate the piece. The unglazed and high fired base clay, carved with facets. The ocean blue glossy glaze and the coral lava glaze at the top, over the carved holes.

The vessel displays both the look and the physical feeling of the ocean. It conveys a connection to the sea and with the clay itself
